A dyslexia assessment looks at a range of areas related to learning, including reading, spelling, writing and underlying cognitive and processing skills.
The assessment is designed to build a detailed picture of an individual's strengths and areas of difficulty. Following the assessment, a comprehensive written report is provided, outlining the findings and offering personalised recommendations to support future learning and development.
Where the assessment findings indicate that the individual meets the relevant criteria, a diagnosis of dyslexia can be given. The report can also help inform appropriate support, interventions and recommendations for school, home, further education or the workplace.
The length of an assessment can vary depending on the individual's age, needs and the type of assessment being completed, but usually take around 3 hours.
I will explain what is involved before the assessment takes place and ensure that there is plenty of opportunity for breaks where needed.
