About Michelle
Supporting learners to understand their strengths and reach their potential.
Hello, I’m Michelle, a specialist teacher, dyslexia assessor and the founder of MB Dyslexia Specialist.
I am an experienced primary school teacher with a strong background in supporting children and young people with a wide range of learning needs. Having worked in education for many years, I understand that every learner is different and that difficulties with reading, spelling and writing can have a significant impact on confidence as well as academic progress.
My services
Through MB Dyslexia Specialist, I offer:
Dyslexia assessments.
Access arrangements assessments.
Specialist teaching and tutoring.
Support and guidance for parents.
Advice and training for school staff.
I have experience working across a range of educational settings and roles, including teaching, SENDCo, mentoring and case work. This experience allows me to understand the practical challenges faced by learners, families and schools and to provide recommendations that are realistic, personalised and meaningful.
My approach
I believe that an assessment should not simply focus on areas of difficulty, but should also identify strengths and provide a clearer understanding of how someone learns.
I understand that seeking a dyslexia assessment or specialist support can sometimes feel overwhelming. Whether you are a parent concerned about your child, a school looking for specialist advice, or an individual wanting to better understand your learning profile, my aim is to make the process as supportive and straightforward as possible.
I take a friendly, professional and person-centred approach. Every assessment and teaching programme is tailored to the individual, recognising both their strengths and the areas where additional support may be helpful.
Following an assessment, you will receive a comprehensive written report, explaining the findings in a clear and accessible way. Where appropriate, the assessment may identify dyslexia, alongside personalised recommendations to support future learning and development.
Working together
I am based in Knowsley, Merseyside, and work with individuals, families, schools and organisations across Merseyside and the surrounding areas. Depending on the service required, I can provide support in schools, at an agreed location or online.
My goal is simple: to provide clarity, practical support and greater confidence, helping individuals to better understand their learning and move forward positively.
